Fondé en 1924, le Comité des Associations Françaises et de Langue Française de New York (le Comité) réunit les associations françaises et francophones de la région de New York marquées par la vivacité de leur attachement à la France et à la francophonie.
Le Comité assure le rôle primordial de fédérateur de nos 61 associations membres dont la diversité fait notre richesse.
Nous sommes un véhicule sûr et efficace pour la diffusion d’informations à travers cette importante communauté française et francophone.
Notre Comité a pour objet de raffermir le lien de l’amitié franco-américaine, de promouvoir la culture française et francophone à New York, et de coordonner le calendrier des manifestations les concernant. Nous couvrons des activités vastes : des manifestations du 14 Juillet auxquelles s’associent des centaines d’américains francophiles à notre Cocktail de fin d’année, en passant, en association avec nos membres, par des activités culturelles, sociales, caritatives et de solidarité.
Nous favorisons la notoriété et la visibilité de nos membres par notre site internet et par la mise en place d’une présence en ligne sur les plus importants réseaux sociaux. Nous constituons ainsi une vitrine sur la France et la francophonie auprès de nos amis américains.
Le Comité harmonise et renforce les efforts communs des associations qu’il rassemble. Tout en respectant l’autonomie de ses associations membres, le Comité en est le porte-parole, auprès des autorités pour les questions propres à l’ensemble des associations qui le composent.
Les associations membres du Comité y sont représentées par leur président et par deux délégués de chaque association. Le siège social du Comité est à New York ; Sa langue officielle est le français.

Founded in 1924, the Committee of French Speaking Societies, Inc. (“The Committee”) unites French and French-speaking associations in the New York Tri-State area that are characterized by their vigorous interest in France and the French language.
The Committee plays the essential role of federating our 61 member associations. We are enriched by their diversity. This makes us the ideal channel through which to disseminate information to this significant French and French-speaking community.
Our Committee’s goal is to promote French culture and presence in New York and to coordinate the calendar of events. We cover a wide range of activities, from the Bastille Day celebrations to our Holiday Cocktail, to various cultural, social and charitable activities conducted in partnership with our members.
We facilitate the status and visibility of our members through our website and by establishing a presence in all major social networks. We also serve as a gateway to France for our American friends.
The Committee strengthens and harmonizes the common efforts of the associations it draws together. While respecting its members’ autonomy, the Committee acts as their spokesperson vis-à-vis both French and American authorities regarding issues that are pertinent to the associations that comprise it.
Our Committee is composed of member associations, each represented by a President and two Delegates. Headquartered in New York, its official language is French.
The Committee is placed under the High Patronage of the Ambassador of France to the United States; Its Honorary President is the Consul General of France in New York.
We are a Not for Profit organization.
