Titre: Jonah Bokaer Lieu: FIAF, Florence Gould Hall, 55 East 59th Street Description: Award-winning choreographer Jonah Bokaer explores his familial roots with his Tunisian-born father, Tsvi Bokaer. Set to an evocative soundscape of everyday sounds recorded in the Mediterranean by Soundwalk Collective and inspired from a screenplay written by Tsvi about his childhood, Jonah probes the dual cultural identities he and his father share, delving into the cross-cultural play between migration, displacement, and sense of self. A meditative work, made all the more profound by Tsvi’s quiet on-stage presence, and a stunning lighting installation inspired by travels to Tunisia. Date début: 2013-05-09 Date fin: 2013-05-10
