Franco-Algerian film, in French and Arabic with English subtitles
Film screening followed by a Q & A with Director Lamine Ammar-Khodja

Eight years after leaving his native Algeria for France, Lamine Ammar-Khodja returns on January 6, 2011, the day major riots break out in Algiers. Organized chronologically, the film is a first-person narrative and, like Aimé Césaire’s Cahier d’un retour au pays natal, to which the director pays tribute, it deals with the difficulties of going back home. This journey isn’t only a private matter, but an opportunity to go back over Algeria’s recent history. The film uses humor and irony, gives voice to a rebellious youth and reveals the talent of an emerging director.
