Kris Ocean Race

NEW YORK BY THE SEA…

Wine Tour de France 2012 Green Terroir: The Organic Debate

Monday, April 30th, 2012 at 7:00PM
FIAF, Le Skyroom

“Wine is still the only product with no mandatory labeling, so you don’t actually know what you are really drinking—producers can add more than a hundred additives into a wine; not only sulfites, but many others. This is why I think it is interesting to consider wines that are made without the use of additives and are organically and biodynamically farmed and vinified.”
—Pascaline Lepeltier, Time Out New York (October 25, 2011)

Explore and taste a selection of organic, biodynamic, and sustainable wines from classic wine regions of France (Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Loire Valley), as well as rare gems from Italy and Spain.

Created using natural and artisanal methods of production, earth-friendly wines are said to offer incredible value at affordable prices, a complex flavor that more accurately reflects their terroir, and additional health benefits thanks to a decrease in additives. Sample a unique selection from AOC Fine Wines, known for its extensive portfolio of artisanal and organic wines.

Pascaline Lepeltier, Wine Director at the Michelin-starred Rouge Tomate, New York’s leading green-dining restaurant, takes you beyond the green label, dispels branding myths, and discusses the values of sustainable wine-making and wine-tasting.
